BEHRINGER POWERPLAY HA 4700
For years I have had the problem of playing my electric guitar at home at a volume that doesn't disturb my neighbours and have failed miserably, not being that well informed about the recording side of things I didn't appreciate the fact that it was possible to play loudly and monitor your sound through headphones satisfactorily and having had a rack-mounted effects unit and overdrive unit for years it was a marriage made in heaven when I mounted the HA 4700 into my rack, connected it all up and "hey presto" I could play at ear splitting volume without anyone else hearing a thing even if they were in the same room, and guess what, the other members of my band (excluding the drummer) can now come round my house and we can practise the instrumental parts of new numbers and hear each other, properly balanced and at a realistic volume without frightening the cat or the neighbours. I am also considering using the system on stage with un-powered monitors so that we instrumentalists can keep a check on our relative sound levels. I would also like to thank Boomerang Sounds for a really quick and efficient service and also for advising me of a bad choice of headphones that I originally made and coming up with a better alternative.
